VINEYARDS

The vineyards were planted in 2016 in the land surrounding the town of Iskar. The vineyard is located on hilly terrain at an average altitude of 150-180 meters, near the upper course of the river.

The terrain is well-ventilated, with good spring moisture retention, hot summers, and minimal rainfall during the grape ripening period.

The soil is the typical leached chernozem of the Danubian Plain, with carbonates washed deep into the layers, rich in micro and macroelements. With proper care for the vineyards, it provides the foundation for crafting complex wines with rich aromas and flavors.

Work in the vineyards is carried out with great precision and attention to detail. The vine training system is selected based on the grape variety, terrain, and desired outcome. Both manual and mechanical operations are performed to improve the quality of the yield. In addition to standard practices, shoot thinning and yield control are mandatory annual operations where necessary.

During harvest, the ripeness of the grapes is monitored daily to determine the optimal picking time for each variety, based on the desired results. The grapes are handpicked, and for early varieties, the work begins in the early morning darkness to ensure the fruit is harvested as cool as possible from the night’s chill.
